Mookie was my first pure-bred Malamute, and I couldn't have had a better introduction to the breed. Although technically just a "pet", with a long coat and unfortunately a multitude of health issues, his temperament was the best of any dog I've ever owned - there was no dog on earth I trusted more.   Mookie captured the heart of everyone he met with his striking appearance and gentle, sweet, unfailing good-nature.  He was uncle/teacher/companion to every new puppy...so patient and tolerant.   I miss his help, his loud woos, and his sweet happy face and thumping tail greeting me at the beginning and end of each day.  My eyes still and will forever automatically go to your favorite spot under the window...and every time you're not there the pain and loss stir anew.
RIP my big Moo-Man.  Finally,  you know what it is like to run and play without pain.
